All EIBT lecturers and tutors are available for face-to-face student consultation on campus for approximately one [1] hour per week per class. If, while undertaking studies at EIBT, you experience difficulties with a particular course you are strongly encouraged to meet with your lecturer/tutor in the first instance during their consultation time.
Study Skills Sessions Students who lack confidence in areas such as note-taking, reading skills and exam techniques are invited to make a booking through the Administrative Assistant in order to take part in the study skills sessions available at EIBT. During these sessions, students can also access help with assignment drafts, researching and structuring assignments and help with writing and referencing. The Counsellor is able to assist with general learning issues rather than those related to specific courses. Support and advice is available in relation to issues such as memory and how to get the best out of yours, coping with stress and anxiety as well as assisting you to create a personalized study plan to cover all the demands of study as well as those of your daily life. English Language Support Free language support is offered to students who need to improve their English language skills and further develop their reading, writing, listening, speaking and grammatical skills within an academic context. During these sessions students will be provided with individual assistance and feedback on their specific area of concern. Students who feel that they need extra assistance with language should notify EIBT of this at enrolment. In addition, students may attend the weekly scheduled consultation with each of their lecturers to receive assistance with assignments or on understanding the concepts taught in class or encountered in their textbooks or other readings. Attendance EIBT Computer Support Advice and refining your plans for university or other tertiary pathways Students are invited to see the Counsellor to review their plans for university or other study beyond EIBT. This process can motivate the student to move steadily towards his or her goal for study at EIBT as well as checking the very best program from those available to the particular student. |
